Spelling words for Jan. 6-10

Dear parents,

Our spelling words for the first week back are words with "ed" and "ing" endings. They are: pinned, pinning, wagged, wagging, begged, begging, stopped, stopping, skipped, skipping, planned, planning, tagged, tagging, tipped, and tipping.

Our theme reading is a Hawaiian folk tale. It is about a storm at sea and how it tests the resolve of a young boy. Our words are master, swells, knowledge, gust, squall, raging, encouragement, deck, bailed, and aching. Please go over the meaning of these words with your child.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Gerri Karr

Lovely performances today!

Dear parents,

The children sang "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas" beautifully during our matinee and evening performance. I did have to speak harshly to our class after the matinee, as I wasn't pleased with their audience/listening skills. They were angels during the evening performance! Guess they just needed to hear grumpy Mrs. Karr rant for a few minutes!!

Please remember to sign up for a treat for our Friday afternoon party, if you are able.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Gerri Karr

Skyscraper projects done!

Dear parents,

Miss Gardiner came in to finish up the skyscraper projects with the children today. They look great! Please come in and see our hallway display.

We created a class Christmas tree out of text books and lights.

Some children in the class created a sign up sheet for treats for our class party on Friday afternoon. If you are able, please sign up for a treat or two.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Gerri Karr
